ABSTRACT
Preservation of library materials is to preserve its records that have historical value and intellectual content of a particular time period. The purpose is to ensure the present and future use of information in whatever form to be recorded. Library of Research Center for Oceanography LIPI has antiquariat collections and publication institutions that need to be conserved for the development of marine science in Indonesia. A challenge for library to be able to preserve the library materials owned, and one of them is to have its own preservation laboratory. When this is realized, it is expected to be a reference to the preservation of library materials for LIPI and national level in the maritime field.
