ABSTRAK
Kejadian stroke berulang semakin meningkat dan menjadi penyumbang kematian utama kecacatan dan kematian pada pasien stroke. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kesadaran diri (self awareness) pasien stroke terhadap faktor-faktor risiko stroke yang dimilikinya, diperlukan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh edukasi stroke terstruktur berbasis audiovisual terhadap self awareness stroke berulang pada pasien stroke. Desain penelitian ini quasi eksperimen dengan pre test and post test non equivalent control group pada 32 responden (n intervensi = n kontrol = 16) yang diambil dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan setelah diberikan edukasi stroke terstruktur berbasis audiovisual terhadap peningkatan self awareness stroke berulang dengan p value <0,0001. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa edukasi stroke terstruktur berbasis audiovisual dapat dijadikan salah satu intervensi keperawatan mandiri dalam upaya preventif dan promotif pencegahan stroke berulang.

The incident of recurrent stroke is increasing and is a major contributor to disability and death in stroke patient. This is caused by the lack of self awareness of stroke patients about the risk factors they have, so efforts are needed to overcome them, including by providing education. This study was aimed to determine the effect of Audiovisual-Based Structured Stroke Education on recurrent Stroke self awareness in stroke patients. Design of this study was quasi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test non equivalent control group with 32 respondents (n intervention = n control = 16) taken by consecutive sampling technique. Result of analysis shows significant effect of audiovisual-based structured stroke education on recurrent stroke self-awareness with p value < 0,0001. This study recommends that audiovisual-based structured stroke education can be one of independent nursing interventions in preventive and promotive efforts to prevent recurrent strokes.
