 Abstract

Tesis ini membahas mengenai makna kepemilikan barang mewah preloved bagi millenials dan proses transaksi melalui instagram. Seiring dengan munculnya trend pembelian barang mewah yang tidak lagi terbatas pada produk baru, tetapi konsumsi barang mewah bekas (preloved) mulai popular, dirasa perlu untuk memahami segmen konsumen yang berkembang ini. Untuk mengetahui motivasi yang mempengaruhi pembelian barang mewah preloved serta makna kepemilikan yang melekat. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan desk research dan interview mendalam.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bagi millennials, makna kepemilikan tas preloved adalah rasionalitas, investasi dengan tetap mendapatkan prestis. Motif utama adalah motif ekonomi. Sedangkan transaksi preloved melalui Instagram dimaknai sebagai kemudahan, ekonomis, dan terpercaya.

This thesis discusses the meaning of preloved luxury goods ownership for millenials and transaction processes through Instagram. Along with the emergence of the trend of purchasing luxury goods that are no longer limited to new products, but the consumption of preloved luxury goods is becoming popular, it is necessary to understand this growing consumer segment. To find out the motivation that affects the purchase of preloved luxury goods and the inherent meaning of ownership. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach. The research method is done by desk research and in-depth interviews.
The results of this study show that for millennials, the meaning of preloved bag ownership is rationality, investment while still getting prestige. The main motive is economic motives. Whereas preloved transactions through Instagram are interpreted as convenience, economical and reliable.
