 Abstract

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses penciptaan diferensiasi identitas brand musisi Electronic Dance Music lokal melalui atribut-atribut personal branding dari sudut pandang konsumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan paradigma interpretatif. Mengacu pada studi sebelumnya yang mengategorikan atribut personal brand  seorang musisi ke dalam tiga aspek, yaitu diri privat, diri profesional, dan diri fisik, penelitian ini berusaha mendalami upaya diferensiasi identitas dari musisi-musisi EDM lokal yang dirasa menonjol menurut konsumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa atribut diri profesional yang mencakup reputasi sebagai produser dan unsur musikalitas adalah atribut yang paling berpengaruh dalam menciptakan diferensiasi identitas brand seorang musisi EDM lokal. Sementara, atribut lain seperti atribut diri privat dan diri fisik berperan sebagai penunjang atribut diri profesional yang juga perlu diperhatikan dalam membuat diferensiasi identitas brand musisi EDM lokal. Penelitian ini juga menemukan adanya indikasi bahwa diferensiasi identitas dapat mempengaruhi kesuksesan dan popularitas musisi EDM lokal.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyse the creation process of brand identity differentiation of local Electronic Dance Music artists through personal branding attributes from consumers perspective. This study uses qualitative approach with in-depth interview method and interpretative paradigm. Referring to the previous study which categorizes a musicians personal brand attributes into three aspects, emanating from private self, professional self, and physical self, this study attempts to fathom the effort of renowned local EDM artists in creating an identity differentiation according to consumers perspective. The result of this study showed that professional self attributes which includes the artists reputation as a producer and musicality elements are the most influential in creating brand identity differentiation of a local EDM artist. Meanwhile, other attributes such as private and physical self attributes also plays a role in supporting professional self attributes in order to maximize the brand identity differentiation. This study also found an indication that brand identity differentiation can affect the success and popularity of local EDM artist.
