Konsep biner adalah salah satu konsep yang telah mengakar dalam tatanan sosial masyarakat. Konsep tersebut menjadi salah satu bidang yang diteliti dalam kaitannya dengan keberlangsungan sistem dominasi, hierarki, dan ketimpangan gender sebagai norma. Artikel ini ditulis untuk menguji konsep biner tersebut dalam perspektif melakukan gender dalam film berjudul 303 (2018) karya Hans Weingartner untuk menyelidiki lebih dalam konstruksi heteronormativitas dan hierarki gender pada dua pemeran utama film ini. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan upaya menggali, memahami, dan menjabarkan representasi budaya berkaitan dengan masalah yang disebutkan di atas. Analisis ini menyoroti konstruksi konsep biner dan dikotomi peran pada kedua pemeran utama dalam film yang saling terkait dalam mengkonstruksi heteronormativitas dan hierarki gender satu sama lain. Analisis ini juga menemukan bahwa film ini melihat ketidaksetaraan gender sebagai hasil dari negosiasi dan kesepakatan dalam peranan tersebut.The gender binary has been entrenched within society for decades. This concept is primarily used to investigate and explain how domination, hierarchy, and gender inequality is sustained in a culture as norms. In this article, I analyse this concept with the doing gender perspective in a movie called 303 (2018) by Hans Weingartner to investigate the construction of heteronormativity and gender hierarchy on the main actors. Using qualitative methods, this article will explore, explain, and describe the cultural representations that related to the problems mentioned above. This analysis sheds light on the construction of the gender binary concept and the dichotomy on the main actors roles are interrelated in creating heteronormativity and their gender hierarchy. Also, the findings illustrate the construction of gender inequality this film has, as a result of negotiations and agreement on these roles.
