ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisi bagaimana pasangan courtship antar budaya beda agama dalam menegosiasikan identitas mereka. Di Indonesia, khususnya Jakarta, seseorang akan sering kali bertemu dan berinteraksi dengan seseorang yang mempunyai latar belakang yang berbeda, hasil dari meningkatnya aktivitas hubungan antar budaya adalah jatuh cinta dengan seseorang dari latar belakang budaya yang berbeda. Maka dari itu, seseorang yang jatuh cinta dengan seseorang yang mempunyai latar belakang budaya yang berbeda akan menjumpai halangan pada perjalanan mereka, terutama penolakan dari lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah identitas seseorang dalam hal ini agama tidaklah selalu menjadi alasan penolakan dari lingkungan sosial mereka terutama keluarga, tetapi ada juga masalah status sosial ekonomi maka dari itu negosiasi identitas akan bergantung pada hal apa yang menjadi penolakan lingkungan sosial mereka
ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze and find out how intercultural interfaith couple negotiate their identities with each other. In Indonesia, especially Jakarta, someone will often meet and interact with other people who have different backgrounds, the result of increasing activities between intercultural relationships is falling in love with someone who has a different cultural background. Therefore, people who have a love relationship with someone who have different culture will encounter obstacles in their journey, especially resistance from the social environment. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative research approach. The results of this study is, identity in this case religion is not always an obstacle for informants to proceed to the stage of marriage but there are other reason like social economy status that depends on informant famlily background. Therefore identity negotiation will depend on what is the reason behind the resistance of informant social environment
