Penelitian ini melihat bagaimana peran civil society organization dalam mempengaruhi masyarakat dan Pemerintah Kota Depok dalam mengembangkan smart city. Penelitian ini berfokus pada 3 aspek smart city, yaitu smart governance, smart environment, dan smart living. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep civil society yang dikemukakan oleh Larry Diamond dan peran civil society oleh Setiyono dan McLeads. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam. Penelitian ini mengambil 3 narasumber utama, yaitu tim pengembangan smart governance, Trash Hero Depok, dan Forum Komunitas Hijau Depok. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa civil society organization di Kota Depok memiliki peran dalam mempengaruhi masyarakat dan Pemerintah Kota Depok dalam pengembangan smart city. Masing-masing komunitas ini dapat mengisi peran strategis maupun peran praktis yang dimiliki oleh civil societyorganization dalam pengembangan smart governance, smart living, dan smart environment di Kota Depok. Dengan mengisi perannya, civil society organization di Kota Depok dapat mempengaruhi masyarakat dan Pemerintah Kota Depok menuju Depok smart city.

This study looks at the role of civil society organizations in influencing the community and the City Government of Depok in developing smart city. This research focuses on 3 aspects of smart city: smart governance, smart environment, and smart living. This study uses the concept of civil society proposed by Larry Diamond and the role of civil society by Setiyono. This study uses qualitative methods with in-depth interviews. This study took 3 main sources, namely Universitas Gunadarma Center for Smart and Sustainable City, Depok`s Trash Hero, and the Depok Green Community Forum. In this study it was found that civil society organizations in Depok City had a role in influencing the community and the City Government of Depok in developing smart cities. Each of these communities can fill the strategic and practical roles that civil society organizations have in developing smart governance, smart living, and smart environment in Depok City. By fulfilling its role, civil society organizations in the City of Depok can influence the community and the Government of the City of Depok towards Depok smart city.
