Skripsi ini membahas mengenai pengalaman ruang temporal threshold space yang dialami melalui proses melewati pintu. Ruang threshold dapat dihadirkan salah satunya pada area transisi bukaan, yang mana area ini biasanya ditempatkan sebuah pintu yang memiliki beberapa peran sebagai penghubung dan pemisah antar dua ruang. Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini untuk mengetahui keterkaitan antara bentuk ruang threshold dan peran pintu dengan pengalaman ambiguitas yang dihasilkan ketika dialami melalui proses melewati pintu (proses encounter). Dari studi kasus pada beberapa pintu di ruang transisi, didapat kesimpulan bahwa terdapat keterkaitan antara bentuk ruang threshold dan peran pintu di ruang transisi dengan pengalaman ambiguitas yang dihasilkan.

This thesis discusses the experience of threshold space by experiencing through the process of passing through the door. One of the threshold spaces can be presented in the transition opening area, where this area has usually place a door that has several roles as a liaison and divider between the two spaces. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the relationship between the role of the door and shape of threshold space with the experience of ambiguity that is experiencing through the process of passing through the door in the transition area (encounter process). From the case study on several doors in the transition room, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the role of the door and shape of threshold space in the transition room with the resulting ambiguity experience.
