Revolusi industri 4.0 memengaruhi setiap aspek kehidupan tidak terkecuali bidang pendidikan. Kini belajar tidak hanya tatap muka secara langsung, namun juga berkembang ke channel online melalui kehadiran beragam aplikasi edukasi. Aplikasi kursus daring tersebut memberi kesempatan bagi orang-orang untuk ikut serta menjadi pengisi konten melalui skema gig economy. Kesempatan ini menjadi alternatif untuk bekerja sebagai guru lepas pada pembelajaran daring yang tengah menjadi tren di generasi milenial. Namun, tren ini tidak menjanjikan keberlangsungan jangka panjang serta kondisi persaingannya saat ini relatif ketat. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi minat orang-orang menjadi gig worker di sektor pendidikan, sekaligus menguraikan harapan dan tantangan model pembelajaran daring melalui skema gig economy. Penelitian ini bertujuan mencari faktor utama yang menjadi penghambat dan pendorong minat masyarakat untuk menjadi online gig worker di kursus daring mengadaptasi model penelitian TechnologyAcceptance Model (TAM) dan Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner online. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan metode Partial List SquareStructural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, faktor-faktor yang menjadi pendorong minat masyarakat untuk menjadi gig worker pada platform kursus daring adalah faktor manfaat, pengaruh sosial, ketertarikan personal, dan nilai ekonomi. Sedangkan faktor yang menjadi penghambat adalah persepsi masyarakat terhadap risiko yang mungkin dihadapi.
