Apoteker memiliki peran penting di apotek, rumah sakit, industri farmasi, distributor sediaan farmasi dan alat kesehatan, serta pemerintahan. Apoteker harus memenuhi standar kompetensi sebagai persyaratan untuk menjalani praktik dan pekerjaan kefarmasian. Standar kompetensi apoteker Indonesia terdiri dari sepuluh standar kompetensi yang diharapkan sebagai kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh seorang apoteker saat lulus. Seorang apoteker diharapkan memiliki pengalaman dalam menjalankan praktik dan pekerjaan kefarmasian sehingga dilaksanakan Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) di Apotek Atrika, PT Enseval Putera Megatrading, dan PT AstraZeneca Indonesia selama periode bulan Februari – September 2020. Setelah PKPA dilaksanakan, calon apoteker diharapkan dapat memperluas wawasan dan pemahaman terkait praktik dan pekerjaan kefarmasian di berbagai instansi seperti apotek, distributor sediaan farmasi dan alat kesehatan serta industri farmasi.

Pharmacists have an important role in pharmacy, hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, pharmaceutical distributors, and government. Pharmacists must meet competency standards as requirements for professional practice. The Indonesian pharmacist competency standard consists of ten competency standards which are expected to be possessed by a pharmacist upon graduation. A pharmacist is expected to have experience in carrying out professional pharmacy practice and work so professional pharmacist work practice or internship is carried out at Apotek Atrika, PT Enseval Putera Megatrading, and PT AstraZeneca Indonesia during the period February - September 2020. After internship is implemented, prospective pharmacists are expected to expand insight and understanding related to pharmaceutical practice and work in various agencies such as pharmacy, pharmaceutical distributor and pharmaceutical industry.
