Apoteker merupakan profesi kunci yang memegang peranan penting, baik di industri farmasi, apotek, maupun pemerintahan. Apoteker harus memenuhi standar kompetensi sebagai persyaratan untuk dapat terjun langsung sebagai tenaga kefarmasian dan melaksanakan praktik profesi. Standar kompetensi apoteker Indonesia terdiri dari sepuluh standar kompetensi Standar Kompetensi Apoteker Indonesia terdiri dari 10 (sepuluh) standar kompetensi. Kompetensi dalam sepuluh standar tersebut merupakan persyaratan untuk memasuki dunia kerja dan menjalani praktik profesi. Oleh karena itu setiap calon apoteker difasilitasi untuk mengikuti Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA), yang dapat membekali calon apoteker melalui pengalaman kerja dan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai praktik pelayanan kefarmasian. PKPA dilaksanakan di Apotek Kimia Farma No. 345 Tebet, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan Republik Indonesia, dan PT. SOHO Industri Pharmasi periode bulan Februari, Maret, Juni sampai Agustus 2020. Setelah menjalani PKPA, diharapkan calon apoteker mendapatkan gambaran bagaimana pekerjaan apoteker yang sesungguhnya di dunia kerja, menambah wawasan, dan pengalaman melakukan praktik kerja profesi sebagai apoteker.

Pharmacist is a key profession that plays an important role in the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy, and government. Pharmacists must meet competency standards as a requirement to be able to work directly as a pharmacist and carry out professional practice. Indonesian pharmacist competency standards consist of ten competency standards. Indonesian pharmacist competency standards consist of 10 (ten) competency standards.
