Tesis ini membahas efek spasial dari variabel ekonomi dan variabel kependudukan terhadap Indeks Demokrasi di Indonesia tahun 2015 dan 2018. Variabel ekonomi yang digunakan adalah Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) per Kapita, dan variabel kependudukan yang digunakan adalah rata-rata lama sekolah dan net migration rate. Peneliti juga menggunakan pengeluaran per kapita sebagai alternatif terhadap PDRB per Kapita guna melihat adanya perbedaan hasil regresi antar keduanya terhadap indeks demokrasi. Menggunakan ekonometrika spasial, peneliti menemukan adanya dependensi spasial variabel ekonomi dan kependudukan terhadap nilai Indeks Demokrasi di provinsi-provinsi yang berdekatan. This thesis discusses the spatial effects of economic and population variables on the 2015 and 2018 Democracy Index in Indonesia. The economic variables used are Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita, and the population variables used are the average length of schooling and net migration rate. Researchers also used per capita expenditure as an alternative to GRDP per capita in order to see the difference in regression results between the two toward democracy index. Using spatial econometrics, researchers found a spatial dependence of economic and population variables on the value of the Democracy Index in neighboring provinces. However, this spatial effect disappears when the per capita GRDP is replaced by per capita expenditure.
