Hasil psikoterapi pada anak dapat dioptimalkan dengan memperhatikan faktor karaktersitik orang tua yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ekspektasi dan motivasi orang tua memengaruhi hasil terapi anak. Penelitian ini melibatkan 78 orang tua dari anak yang sedang mengikuti terapi, yang terpilih dengan teknik convenience sampling. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan Parent Expectancies for Treatment Scale (PETS), Parental Motivation Inventory (PMI), Outcome Rating Scale (ORS), dan formulir demografi. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa ekspektasi dan motivasi orang tua tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil terapi anak. Perlu dilakukan kontrol terhadap variabel lain yang turut memengaruhi hasil terapi, seperti jenis gangguan yang dialami anak, jenis terapi, dan status sosial ekonomi keluarga untuk mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang lebih jelas tentang peran ekspektasi orang tua dan motivasi orang tua terhadap hasil terapi anak.

The results of psychotherapy in children can be optimized by taking the parental characteristics into account that influence it. This study was aimed to determine whether parental expectancy and parental motivation affect the outcome of children's therapy. This study involved 78 parents of children taking therapy who were selected by convenience sampling technique. Measurements were performed using the Parent Expectations for Treatment Scale (PETS), Parental Motivation Inventory (PMI), Outcome Rating Scale (ORS), and demographic forms. From this study, it was found that parental expectancy and parental motivation did not have a significant effect on the outcome of child therapy. It is necessary to control other variables that also influence the outcome of therapy, such as the type of disorder, the type of therapy, and the socioeconomic status of the family to obtain clearer research result.
