Tesis ini membahas subjektivitas perempuan dalam tiga novel Wattpad Indonesia, yaitu She is The Boss (2017), Invalidite (2017), dan Sin (2016) dengan menggunakan kerangka konseptual Simone de Beauvoir. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural berupa analisis narator dan telaah karakteristik tokoh. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa penggunaan narator eksternal membantu pengungkapan karakter tokoh perempuan yang ditampilkan seakan tampak berdaya untuk membentuk subjektivitas perempuan. Namun, relasi kuasa yang dipengaruhi oleh tokoh laki-laki dan peran gender tokoh perempuan serta laki-laki melahirkan ambiguitas subjektivitas perempuan. Dengan kata lain, subjektivitas perempuan tiga novel Wattpad Indonesia hanyalah sebuah kesemuan. Dapat dikatakan bahwa ketiga novel ini mendukung sistem patriarkal yang ada di masyrakat. Popularitas dan kisahan novel pun menjadikan novel ini disebut sebagai sastra populer yang bertujuan untuk menghibur dengan tema yang ringan berkaitan dengan hubungan cinta laki-laki dan perempuan yang mendapatkan masalah dan berhasil menyelesaikannya. Hal ini pun menunjukkan sastra populer di Indonesia masih menunjukkan kepatuhan terhadap patriarkal. Begitu pula total pembacaan yang banyak menunjukkan bahwa selera masyarakat terhadap novel seperti ini bermakna bahwa sistem patriarkal terus-menerus dilanggengkan.

This thesis discusses the subjectivity of women in three Wattpad Indonesia's novels, namely She is The Boss (2017), Invalidite (2017), and Sin (2016) using the conceptual framework of Simone de Beauvoir. The method used is a qualitative research method with a structural approach in the form of a narrator analysis and an analysis of character characteristics. The results revealed that the use of an external narrator helps reveal the character of the female character who is displayed as if it seems empowered to shape the subjectivity of women. However, the power relations influenced by male figures and the gender roles of female and male characters give birth to the ambiguity of female subjectivity. In other words, the female subjectivity of three Wattpad Indonesia's novels is just an art. It can be said that these three novels support the patriarchal system that exists in society. The popularity and narratives of novels also make this novel known as popular literature which aims to entertain with light themes related to the love relationship between men and women who get into problems and succeed in solving them. This also shows that popular literature in Indonesia still shows adherence to patriarchy. Likewise, the total number of readings shows that people's appetite for novels like this means that the patriarchal system is constantly being perpetuated.
