Latar Belakang: Perawatan terhadap individu disabilitas dinilai kompleks dan komprehensif. Namun, terdapat keterbatasan akses bagi individu disabilitas ke dokter gigi dikarenakan kurangnya tenaga yang terlatih. Sikap tenaga kesehatan terhadap individu disabilitas menjadi penting karena akan mempengaruhi perawatan yang akan diberikan kepada individu disabilitas. Sehingga, dibutuhkan penelitian mengenai sikap mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Indonesia terhadap individu pasien dengan disabilitas.
Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan sikap mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi di Universitas Indonesia terhadap individu pasien dengan disabilitas berdasarkan variabel usia, jenis kelamin, program pendidikan, tahun angkatan, prior knowledge mengenai disabilitas, riwayat kontak personal dengan individu disabilitas, dan pengalaman merawat individu disabilitas.
Metode: Studi cross-sectional dengan self-administered online questionnaire pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Indonesia tahun angkatan 2015-2021. Kuesioner yang digunakan adalah ATDP form yang terdiri dari 20 pertanyaan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis univariat dan bivariat melalui uji independent t-test, Mann-Whitney atau Kruskal Wallis.
Hasil: Terdapat 572 mahasiswa yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dengan response rate 70%. Berdasarkan analisis bivariat, tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik (p > 0,05) antara rerata skor ATDP dengan variabel-variabel yang terkait.
Kesimpulan: Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Indonesia memiliki sikap yang netral terhadap individu pasien dengan disabilitas.
Background: Treating individuals with disabilities is considered complex and comprehensive. However, there is still limited access for individuals with disabilities to dentists due to the lack of trained personnel. The attitudes of health care workers toward individuals with disabilities will affect how people with disabilities are treated. Thus, research is still needed on the attitudes of students of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia toward patients with disabilities. Objective: To find out the different attitudes of students at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia toward patients with disabilities based on age, gender, education program, year of class, prior knowledge about disability, history of personal contact with disabled person, and experience in giving care for individual with disability. Methods: A cross-sectional study with self-administered online questionnaire for students of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia in the years of 2015-2021. ATDP form is used in this research which consists of 20 questions. The data were analysed using univariate and bivariate analysis through independent t-test, Mann-Whitney or Kruskal Wallis tests. Results: 572 students participated in this study with a response rate of 70%. Based on the bivariate analysis, there was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between the mean of ATDP score and related variables. Conclusion: Students of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia have neutral attitudes toward patients with disabilities.
