Latar belakang: Pasien kanker rentan mengalami malnutrisi dan disabilitas menyebabkan sulitnya pengukuran tinggi badan aktual untuk penentuan status gizi dan tata laksana nutrisi optimal. Penelitian membahas korelasi antara panjang depa dengan tinggi badan aktual yang diharapkan menghasilkan rumus estimasi.
Metode: Penelitian observasional potong lintang pada 68 pasien rawat jalan di poliklinik radiologi RSCM Agustus-September 2019 yang dipilih menggunakan simple random sampling. Pelaksanaan penelitian di departemen ilmu gizi FKUI-RSCM menggunakan data sekunder; dianalisis memakai SPSS versi 20.0. Analisis univariat uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov pada variabel usia, status gizi pasien, tinggi badan, dan panjang depa pasien. Analisis bivariat dengan uji spearman’s correlation.
Hasil: Pasien rata-rata berusia 46,4(10,8) tahun; mayoritas berjenis kelamin laki-laki (51,5%), tingkat pendidikan SMA (35,3%), kanker kepala leher (64,7%), stadium kanker 3 (36,6%), dan status gizi normal (38,2%). Rata-rata panjang depa 161(47,7-204) cm, rata-rata tinggi badan 157(39-180) cm. Korelasi yang sangat kuat antara panjang depa dengan tinggi badan (r = 0,924); signifikan secara statistik (p < 0,001).
Kesimpulan: Hubungan antara panjang depa dengan tinggi badan pada pasien poliklinik radioterapi RSCM menunjukkan derajat hubungan yang sangat kuat serta signifikan secara statistik dan dapat dipakai sebagai alternatif pengukuran tinggi badan.
Introduction: Cancer patients are prone to malnutrition and disability, which makes it difficult to measure actual height for nutritional status and optimal nutritional management. The study discusses the correlation between arm span and height which is expected to produce an approximate formula. Method: A cross-sectional observational study on 68 outpatients at the radiology polyclinic RSCM August-September 2019 selected using simple random sampling. Implementation of research in the department of nutrition science FKUI-RSCM using secondary data; analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test univariate analysis on the variables of age, nutritional status of patients, height, and arm span of patients. Bivariate analysis with Spearman correlation test. Result: The mean age of patients was 46.4(10.8) years; the majority were male (51.5%), high school education level (35.3%), head and neck cancer (64.7%), cancer stage 3 (36.6%), and normal nutritional status (38, 2%). The average arm span is 161(47.7-204) cm, the average height is 157(39-180) cm. Very strong correlation between arm span and height (r = 0.924); statistically significant (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The relationship between arm span and height in RSCM radiotherapy polyclinic patients shows a very strong and statistically significant degree of relationship and can be used as an alternative height measurement.
