 Abstract

The HPV vaccine is the primary prevention against cervical cancer. The high cost of HPV vaccination is a challenge for young, unemployed women. In addition, lack of awareness can be a limiting factor for women in deciding to vaccinate against HPV. This cross sectional study aims to examine the relationship between level of awareness and the decision to vaccinate HPV. Respondents were 126 female workers aged 18-25 years, not yet sexually active, and domiciled in Depok City. The instruments used were Knowledge and awareness about human papillomavirus vaccination questionnaire and Willingness to Receive Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Questionnaire which were translated, data analysis using Chi square test. The results of the analysis found p-value 0.001 or <0.05, OR 2.396, 95%CI 1.26-1.43. Through these findings, it can be concluded that the higher the level of awareness, the higher the involvement in decision-making for HPV vaccination in female workers. Future research is expected to be able to analyze the factors that can influence the decision of the HPV vaccine.
