Tuberculosis paru berdampak pada masalah fisiologis terutama masalah respirasi. Masalah keperawatan yang umum pada klien dengan TB paru adalah pola napas tidak efektif yang disebabkan oleh deformitas dinding thorak dan kondisi penyakit. Bentuk tindakan keperawatan yang sederhana dan mudah dilakukan adalah pemberian posisi semi fowler. Posisi semi fowler akan membuat paru dapat memaksimalkan ekspansinya dan menurunkan penggunaan otot bantu napas. Karya Ilmiah Akhir ini memberikan gambaran tentang keefektifan pemberian posisi semi fowler terhadap penurunan sesak napas pada Tn. S dengan TB Paru. Hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan selama lima hari menunjukkan penurunan sesak napas dan penurunan penggunaan otot bantu pernapasan pada Tn. S setelah diberikan posisi semi fowler. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan, posisi semi fowler mampu memaksimalkan ekspansi paru dan menurunkan upaya penggunaan otot bantu napas. Pemberian posisi semi fowler dapat diaplikasikan sebagai salah satu intervensi non-farmakologi utama dalam mengatasi pola napas tidak efektif.

Pulmonary tuberculosis has an impact on physiological problems, especially respiratory problems. A common nursing problem in clients with pulmonary TB is an ineffective breathing pattern caused by thoracic wall deformities and disease conditions. One of the nursing actions that is simple and easy to perform is the provision of a semi-Fowler's position. The semi-Fowler's position will allow the lungs to maximize their expansion and reduce the use of accessory muscles for breathing. This final scientific work provides an overview of the effectiveness of giving the semi-fowler position to reduce shortness of breath in Mr. S with pulmonary TB. The results of the evaluation carried out for five days showed a decrease in shortness of breath and a decrease in the use of accessory muscles of respiration in Mr. S after being given a semi-Fowler's position. Based on the research that has been done, the semi-Fowler position is able to maximize lung expansion and reduce the effort to use the accessory muscles of breathing. Provision of a semi-Fowler's position can be applied as one of the main non-pharmacological interventions in overcoming ineffective breathing patterns.
