Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat menghasilkan pertukaran informasi yang semakin mudah tiap hari nya, hal ini tidak terlepas dengan kemudahan untuk mengakses karya cipta melalui akses internet. Kemudahan ini tidak membatasi terjadi nya pelanggaran terhadap karya cipta orang lain, dimana salah satu nya merupakan Tindakan pelanggaran terhadap font dan typeface yang kerap terjadi. Pengaturan terhadap font dan typeface merupakan hal yang penting dikarenakan pengaturan merupakan satu-satu nya metode perlindungan karena belum ada nya sistem perlindungan yang dapat melindungi font dan typeface dari tindakan pelanggaran. Untuk itu, penelitian ini akan menjelaskan terkait font dan typeface beserta pelanggaran yang dapat terjadi kepada font dan typeface. Selain itu penelitian ini juga akan menganalisis terkait pengaturan terhadap font dan typeface di Indonesia dan akan dilakukan perbandingan dengan peraturan di Amerika Serikat dan Inggris. Penelitian akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan sumber-sumber penelitian dan data yang didapatkan melalui studi kepustakaan. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah pengaturan terkait font dan typeface belum diatur secara eksplisit pada Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 (“UUHC”) dan dirasa perlu nya pengaturan lebih lanjut terkait aspek-aspek pada font dan typeface yang lebih medetail agar tercipta nya kepastian hukum. Sehingga, Indonesia dapat membuat pengaturan yang sesuai dengan kondisi di Indonesia dengan mengadopsi pengaturan yang telah berlaku di Amerika Serikat dan Inggris.

The rapid development of technology has resulted in an easier exchange of information every day, this is inseparable from the ease of accessing copyrighted works through internet access. This convenience does not limit the occurrence of violations of other people's copyrighted works, where one of them is a violation of fonts and typefaces that often occur. Regulations on font and typeface is important because those regulations is the only protection method available, because there is no protection system that can protect fonts and typefaces from violations. For this reason, this study will explain fonts and typefaces along with violations that can occur to fonts and typefaces. In addition, this study will also analyze the regulations related to fonts and typefaces in Indonesia and will be compared with regulations in the United States and United Kingdom. The research will be carried out using research sources and data obtained through literature studies. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the regulations related to fonts and typefaces have not been explicitly regulated in Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 ("UUHC") and it is felt that further arrangements are needed regarding aspects of fonts and typefaces that are more detailed in order to create legal certainty. Thus, Indonesia can make arrangements that are in accordance with the conditions in Indonesia by adopting the arrangements that have been in force in the United States and the United Kingdom.
