Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada bahasa slang yang muncul dan digunakan dalam komunitas Virtual YouTuber dari agensi Virtual YouTuber Hololive Jepang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sebab terbentuknya, bentuk, fungsi, serta makna yang terkandung dalam bahasa slang tersebut. Data yang dianalisis berupa rekaman video dari kanal YouTube Hololive. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan landasan teori semiotik Roland Barthes (1967). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya makna konotasi dalam bahasa slang komunitas Virtual YouTuber Hololive. Bahasa slang yang ditemukan memiliki fungsi sebagai kode rahasia yang membuat orang awam tidak mengetahui maknanya dan cenderung melanggar kaidah bahasa yang benar.

This study will focus on the slang languages that appears and used in the Virtual YouTuber community from the Virtual YouTuber agency Hololive Japan. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of its formation, form, function, and meaning contained in the slang languages. The analyzed data is in the form of recorded video from the Hololive YouTube channel. The qualitative is method used based on the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes (1967). The result of this study is the discovery of connotative meanings in the slang language of the Hololive Virtual YouTuber community. The slang languages that have been found has a function as a secret code that makes ordinary people don’t understand its meaning and tends to violate the grammatical rules.
