Pengawasan yang dilakukan oleh majelis pengawas Notaris yaitu agar para Notaris mampu menjalankan tugas dan tanggungjawabnya sesuai dengan kaidah-kaidah yang berlaku, sehingga mampu memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat umum. Majelis Pengawas dalam kedudukan sebagai Badan atau Jabatan Tata Usaha Negara mempunyai kewenangan untuk membuat atau mengeluarkan Surat Keputusan atau Ketetapan yang berkaitan dengan hasil pengawasan, pemeriksaan atau penjatuhan sanksi yang ditujukan kepada Notaris yang bersangkutan berdasarkan laporan masyarakat. Permasalahan dari  penelitian ini adalah  Bagaimana kewajiban Majelis Pengawas Daerah untuk menyampaikan hasil pemeriksaan terhadap Laporan masyarakat dan bagaimana Tindak Lanjut Laporan Masyarakat Kepada Majelis Pengawas Daerah dalam Putusan Pengadilan Tinggi Medan Nomor 161/Pdt/2018/PT.Mdn. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian yuridis normatif dimana merupakan penelitian yang secara khusus meneliti hukum dengan studi kepustakaan. Kesimpulan dari  permasalahan ini adalah   sesuai dengan bunyi pada Pasal 71 UUJN, sedangkan jika merujuk pada esensi dibentuknya Majelis Pengawas Notaris adalah guna mengawasi kinerja Notaris dan memberikan wadah mengadu bagi para pihak dalam akta yang merasa dirugikan atas kinerja Notaris. Kekosongan hukum atas perilaku majelis pengawas daerah yang tidak melakukan kewajibannya tersebut berpotensi untuk melemahkan kepercayaan masyarakat atas jabatan Notaris dan berdampak pada citra Majelis Pengawas Notaris di Indonesia. Sedangkan peran dan fungsi majelis pengawas Notaris di Indonesia adalah melakukan pembinaan dan pengawasan terhadap Notaris yang diharapkan mampu mencegah perbuatan sewenang-wenang dari Notaris.

The problem of this study is how the obligation of the Regional Supervisory Board to submit the results of the examination of the community report and how to follow up the Community Report to the Regional Supervisory Board in the Medan High Court Decision Number 161 / Pdt / 2018 / PT.Mdn. The form of research used in this research is normative juridical research that specifically examines the law with literature studies. The conclusion of this matter is in accordance with the sound in Article 71 UUJN while referring to the essence of the establishment of the Notary Supervisory Board is to supervise the performance of the Notary and provide a forum to complain about the parties in the deed who feel aggrieved by the performance of the Notary. The legal vacuum over the conduct of the regional supervisory assembly that did not perform its obligations has the potential to weaken public confidence in the position of Notary and have an impact on the image of the Notary Supervisory Board in Indonesia. While the role and function of the Notary supervisory panel in Indonesia is to conduct coaching and supervision of Notaries who are expected to prevent arbitrary actions from notaries.
