Latar Belakang: Kontrol infeksi di ruang perawatan gigi penting dilakukan bagi keselamatan pasien dan dokter gigi guna mencegah terjadinya transmisi infeksi COVID-19. Kesadaran masyarakat mengenai kontrol infeksi silang COVID-19 dinilai masih kurang mengingat kasus terkonfirmasi positif COVID-19 yang cenderung terus meningkat. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis pengetahuan dan sikap serta hubungannya dengan kesadaran pasien dewasa mengenai kontrol infeksi silang COVID-19 di ruang perawatan gigi. Metode: Studi cross-sectional berupa kuesioner online berisi 22 pertanyaan pada masyarakat dewasa berusia 18-65 tahun yang berdomisili di DKI Jakarta dan pernah mengunjungi dokter gigi dengan pengambilan sampel berupa purposive sampling berjumlah 335 responden pada bulan Juli hingga Oktober 2021. Digunakan uji korelasi bivariat melalui uji Kendall’s Tau dan uji beda rerata dengan melihat nilai p-value dan r (koefisien korelasi) untuk analisis statistik. Hasil: Berdasarkan uji korelasi Kendall’s Tau, terdapat perbedaan hubungan yang yang cukup, signifikan, dan searah (p<0,05) antara pengetahuan dan sikap pasien dengan kesadaran mengenai kontrol infeksi silang COVID-19 di ruang perawatan gigi. Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan dan sikap pasien dewasa berkorelasi positif dengan kesadaran mengenai kontrol infeksi silang COVID-19 di ruang perawatan gigi sehingga pentingnya dilakukan pemberdayaan kepada masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap agar dapat terciptanya kesadaran mengenai kontrol infeksi silang COVID-19.

Background: Infection control in the dentistry is important for the safety of patients and dentists in order to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 infection. Awareness of patients regarding the control of cross-infection of COVID-19 are considered to be still lacking considering the high rate of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19. Objective: To analyze knowledge and attitudes and their relationship with adult patient’s awareness regarding the control of COVID-19 cross-infection in the dental care room. Methods: A cross-sectional study in the form of an online questionnaire containing 22 questions for adults aged 18-65 years who live in DKI Jakarta and have visited a dentist with a purposive sampling of 335 respondents from July to October 2021. Bivariate correlation test was used through the Kendall's Tau test and the mean difference test by looking at the p-value and r (correlation coefficient) for statistical analysis. Results: Based on the Kendall's Tau correlation test, there was a significant and unidirectional relationship difference (p<0.05) between the patient's knowledge and attitudes and awareness about COVID-19 cross-infection control in the dental care room. Conclusion: Knowledge and attitudes of adult patients are positively correlated with awareness regarding the control of COVID-19 cross-infection in the dental care room so that it is important to empower the community to increase knowledge and attitudes in order to create awareness regarding the control of COVID-19 cross-infection.
