Peningkatan umur harapan hidup penduduk indonesia telah menghasilkan peningkatan jumlah penduduk berusia lanjut. Transisi demografi dan epidemiologi telah menyebabkan penyakit pembuluh darah menjadi urutan pertama dalam penyebab kematian, terutama pada umur lanjut. Kebutuhan pelayanan kesehatan dan biaya bagi mereka akan meningkat.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menilai kebijakan penggunaan obat melalui perbandingan pola peresepan bagi penderita stroke pasien Askes dan Umum, yang meliputi nama generik dan kelas terapi, jumlah obat per pasien, ketepatan dosis, jumlah Dosis per hari (Defined Daily Dose), dan biaya obat per pasien. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan bagi pengendalian biaya obat dan peningkatan pelayanan kesehatan.
Metode penelitian survai 'cross sectional' digunakan terhadap 182 pasien stroke yang terdiri dari 46 pasien Askes dan 136 pasien Non Askes, melalui rekam medik penderita yang dirawat di Rumah Sakit Cipto Mangunkusumo selama Januari sampai Desember 1995. Data yang dikurnpulkan adalah nama dan kelas terapi obat, jumlah dosis dan jumlah unit obat yang dipakai, dan harga satuan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan antara peresepan dan biaya obat bagi pasien Askes dan Non Askes, kecuali dalam jumlah Defined Daily Dose, jumlah rata-rata obai perpasien, dan biaya obat per pasien.

Comparative Study of Prescribing Pattern and Drug Cost for Stroke Patient of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital by PT. Askes Beneficiaries in 1995Increased life expectancy of Indonesian population has resulted in the growing number of elderly until 2010. Demographic and epidemiologic changes has placed cardiovascular disease becomes a major disease, predominantly affecting the elderly population. The majority of them have chronic diseases requiring long term care and high cost.The objective of the study was to review drug use policy by assessing drug prescribing pattern (generic name and therapeutic class of drug, number of drug per patient, accuracy of dose, number of Debited Daily Dose , and drug cost per patient) among patients suffer front stoke, causisted at those are PT. Askes' beneficiaries (a government health insurance company) and Non Askes beneficiaries. It was expected that the results of this study can be used to improved health care services and control drug.The method used was cross sectional survey on 182 stroke patients (46 /Likes beneficiaries and 136 Won Askes beneficiaries) who were hospitalized in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital dining January - December 1995. Data obtained from medical records include generic name and therapeutic class of drug, dosage regiment, number of drug administered, and unit price of the drugs.The result showed that there was no difference in drug treatment both for Askes and Non Askes patients, except in term of defined daily dose, number of drug per patient and drug cost per patient.Refferences : 61 (1979-1996)
