 Abstract

ABSTRACT
This study reviews the state of local area networks which are implemented in libraries- A general introduction to local area networks is presented- The applications of local area networks upon whi ch the libraries may take advantages, disadvantages are examined - The CD-ROM network is also discussed.
The study also presents general background information to the university libraries in Indonesia to which the local area networks might be appli cable- A general outline of local area networks configurations is also made.
