Tesis ini menjelaskan perancangan dan analisa dalam membangun sistem rumah cerdas (smart home) dengan metoda baru penerapan konsep teknologi pervasive secara Hardware dan Software meliputi arsitektur, fungsionalitas dan konfigurasi sistem. Teknologi pervasive memungkinkan pengguna (user) dapat mengakses sistem dimana saja, kapan saja saat dibutuhkan (any where-any time/on demand). Sistem rumah cerdas yang dibangun dan selanjutnya disebut "SAHARA" adalah sistem yang memadukan teknik Computer interfacing, Electronics, Microcontroller, Telecommunication, Multimedia dan Software application sebagai sistem pengamanan, kontrol, otomatisasi, monitoring, informasi dan komunikasi dilingkungan rumah. Konsep pervasive diterapkan dalam hal ini rumah cerdas dapat diakses dari dan keluar rumah melalui remote control, jaringan telehpone, sms, web-cam dan jaringan Internet.

This thesis describes our study and development of smart by taken into account the concept of pervasive technology. The system integrates pervasive concept into the design of its hardware and software architecture, funclionalitres and system configuration. Pervasive technology is aimed at giving users access to information sources anywhere, anytime and on demand.

The smart home has depeloved and I gave a name "SAHARA" is the system combined Computer interfacing, Electronics, Microcontroller, Telecommunication, Multimedia dan Software application as a home security, control, monitoring, automation, home information and comunication. Pervasive access to and from the smart home can be done simultaneously via remote control, telephone network, sms, web-camera and Internet connection.
