Imaji dari perempuan metropolis adalah perempuan dengan karakteristik yang kuat, mandiri, dan percaya diri. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kehidupan metropolis yang bercirikan money economy sehingga berdampak pada karakteristik orang-orang yang tinggal di kota metropolitan dan menghasilkan salah satu stereotip terhadap perempuan urban, yaitu Gamma Woman. Wacana tersebut dapat dilihat dari sebuah film bernama Berlin, Berlin: Lolle on the Run. Sebagai perempuan metropolis, karakter utama bernama Lolle ini direpresentasikan sebagai perempuan yang mandiri, berprinsip kuat, dan kooperatif. Namun, karakteristik tersebut sebenarnya hanya upaya Lolle untuk mengikuti stereotip Gamma Woman yang dikonstruksi oleh masyarakat. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini akan membahas terkait bagaimana Lolle mencoba untuk menempatkan dirinya terhadap stereotip tersebut yang dianalisis oleh teori "The Metropolis and Mental Life" dari Georg Simmel dan teori "Representation: Cultural Representation and Signifying Practices" oleh Stuart Hall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi stereotip Gamma Woman terwakili oleh tokoh utama, namun tidak sepenuhnya sesuai dengan imaji masyarakat.

Image of metropolis women is having a personality that is tough, independent, and confident which caused of the money economy in metropolis life. Therefore, money economy influences personality of the metropolis people itself. That kind of personality is called as Gamma Woman. A term of Gamma Woman itself is a result of the stereotype that is made by the society towards women. This discourse can be seen in a film called Berlin, Berlin: Lolle on the Run. As a metropolis woman, Lolle is being represented as an independent, strong principles, and cooperative woman that led her to be a Gamma Woman. However, Lolle is actually just trying to befit herself into the Gamma Woman's stereotype that is constructed by society. With that being said, this study will discuss how Lolle tries to follow the stereotype by being a Gamma Woman which is analysed with "The Metropolis and Mental Life" theory by Georg Simmel and "Representation: Cultural Representation and Signifying Practices" theory by Stuart Hall. The result of this study shows that the construction of Gamma Woman's stereotype is being represented by the main character. However, Lolle doesn't fully live up to the society's stereotype.
