Kebutuhan air tanah di Kecamatan Ciambar merupakan sumber daya yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh warga setempat untuk melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari. Akan tetapi, daerah ini memiliki kesulitan untuk mencari solusi serta letak air tanah yang tersebar pada Kecamatan Ciambar. Mengamati hal ini, penulis dan tim riset melalukan penelitian hidrogeologi pada daerah Kecamatan Ciambar yang terletak di kaki Gunung Gede-Pangrango. Beberapa aspek yang diamati pada riset ini yaitu kondisi geologi daerah penelitian, pola pengaliran air tanah, tingkat persebaran mata air dan jenisnya, nilai debit mata air, dan kondisi akuifer pada daerah penelitian. Tahap pengambilan data meliputi kondisi geologi terbagi menjadi kondisi geomorfologi dengan satuan geomorfologi Satuan Dataran Vulkanik Aliran Piroklastik memiliki Elevasi 400 – 500 mdpl dengan Kemiringan Lereng Datar hingga Agak Curam (0 – 30%) pada Kaki Gunung Pangrango, Satuan Punggungan Vulkanik Aliran Piroklastik memiliki Elevasi 400 – 737 mdpl dengan Kemiringan Lereng Agak Curam hingga Sangat Curam (15 – 70%) pada Kaki Gunung Pangrango, dan Satuan Punggungan Vulkanik Aliran Lahar memiliki Elevasi 400 – 737 mdpl dengan Kemiringan Lereng Agak Curam hingga Sangat Curam (15 – 70%) pada Kaki Gunung Pangrango. Satuan geologi terbagi menjadi Satuan Tuff (QT) dan Satuan Aglomerat Andesitik. Selain itu, aspek hidrogeologi seperti pola pengaliran air tanah yang cenderung bergerak dari arah timur ke barat, persebaran mata air pada 3 titik, nilai debit mata air yang relatif rendah, dan kondisi akuifer yang didominasi oleh akuifer tidak tertekan pada daerah penelitian.

The need for groundwater in Kecamatan Ciambar is a resource that is needed by local residents to carry out their daily activities. However, in this area it is difficult to find solution and the location of groundwater which is spread across the Kecamatan Ciambar. Observing this, the author and the research team carried out hydrogeological research in the Kecamatan Ciambar area which is located at the foot of Gunung Gede-Pangrango. Several aspects were observed in this research, namely the geological conditions of the study area, the pattern of groundwater drainage, the level of distribution of springs and their types, the discharge value of springs, and the condition of the aquifers in the study area. At the data collection stage, the geological conditions are divided into geomorphological conditions with geomorphological units as The Pyroclastic Flow Volcanic Plain Unit has an elevation of 400 – 500 masl with a Flat to Slightly Steep Slope (0 – 30%) at the foot of Mount Pangrango, the Pyroclastic Flow Volcanic Ridge Unit has an Elevation of 400 – 737 masl with a Slightly Steep to Very Steep Slope (15 – 70%) at the foot of Mount Pangrango, and the Lava Flow Volcanic Ridge Unit has an elevation of 400 – 737 masl with a Slightly Steep to Very Steep Slope (15 – 70%) at the foot of Mount Pangrango. Geological units are divided into Tuff Units (QT) and Andesitik Agglomerate Units. In addition, hydrogeological aspects such as the pattern of groundwater drainage which tends to move from east to west, the distribution of springs at 3 points, the relatively low value of spring discharge, and the condition of aquifers which are dominated by unpressured aquifers in the study area.
