Industri pertambangan batubara merupakan salah satu sumber energi utama di banyak negara termasuk di Indonesia. Namun, industri ini juga menghadapi tantangan dalam hal dampak lingkungan, termasuk emisi gas rumah kaca, dan polusi udara. Untuk menghadapi tantangan tersebut, para pelaku industri tambang batubara beserta pemerintah Indonesia perlu menerapkan konsep ekonomi sirkular demi mengurangi dampak lingkungan yang dihasilkan. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditentukan faktor pendorong dan penghambat utama yang dapat diimplementasikan pada industri pertambangan batubara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan faktor pendorong dan penghambat implementasi ekonomi sirkular pada industri pertambangan batubara di Indonesia. Pada tahap awal, penelitian ini meninjau beberapa faktor pendorong dan penghambat yang ada untuk dijadikan daftar dari faktor pendorong dan penghambat awal. Kemudian daftar dari faktor pendorong dan penghambat tersebut dinilai dan divalidasi oleh lima ahli. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Content Validity Index (CVI) untuk memvalidasi faktor pendorong dan penghambat dan metode DANP untuk menganalisis hubungan dan prioritas faktor pendorong dan penghambat. Dimensi yang paling penting  dari faktor pendorong dan faktor penghambat adalah dimensi financial dan faktor yang paling penting adalah adanya kerja sama industri untuk faktor pendorong dan penerapan teknologi yang rumit untuk faktor penghambat. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan lebih lanjut oleh industri pertambangan batubara untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut.

The coal mining industry is one of the main sources of energy in many countries, including Indonesia. However, this industry also faces challenges in terms of environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. To address these challenges, coal mining industry players and the Indonesian government need to implement the concept of circular economy to reduce the environmental impact produced. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the main driving factors and barriers that can be implemented in the coal mining industry. This research aims to develop driving factors and barriers for the implementation of circular economy in the coal mining industry in Indonesia. In the initial stage, this research reviews several existing driving factors and barriers to create a list of initial driving factors and barriers. Then, the list of driving factors and barriers is evaluated and validated by five experts. This study uses the Content Validity Index (CVI) method to validate the driving factors and barriers and the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) based Analytic Network Process (ANP)/DANP method to analyze the relationships and priorities of the driving factors and barriers. The most important dimension of the driving factors and barriers is the financial dimension, and the most important factor is industry collaboration for the driving factors and the implementation of complex technology for the barriers. The results of this study can be further utilized by the coal mining industry to address these challenges.
