Kanker merupakan penyakit dimana suatu sel tubuh mengalami mutasi sehingga sel mengalami pertumbuhan yang tidak normal. Mutasi ini dapat diakibatkan oleh kelainan genetik, fisiologi tubuh, kondisi imun tubuh, dan pengaruh gaya hidup. Apabila pertumbuhan sel kanker tidak ditangani, maka sel kanker dapat menyebar ke bagian tubuh yang lain. Salah satu jenis kanker dengan prevalensi terbesar di dunia yaitu kanker payudara. Dalam mengobati kanker payudara, terapi yang umum dilakukan berupa kemoterapi. Pengkajian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan memberikan rekomendasi penyelesaian masalah terkait dengan pengobatan yang diberikan serta efek samping yang dikeluhkan oleh pasien. Pengkajian dilakukan terhadap salah satu pasien rawat jalan di ruang kemoterapi lantai satu Gedung Teratai Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat (RSUP) Fatmawati dengan metode observasi. Regimen kemoterapi yang diberikan terhadap pasien berupa carboplatin dan docetaxel. Berdasarkan pengkajian yang ditemukan, ditemukan masalah berupa dosis carboplatin yang kurang sesuai apabila dibandingkan dengan literatur. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa pasien mengeluhan efek samping kemoterapi berupa sakit kepala, demam, diare, dan mual. Efek samping ini baru muncul beberapa hari setelah pemberian kemoterapi. Efek samping tersebut merupakan efek samping yang umum ditemui setelah pemberian docetaxel dan carboplatin. Maka, direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan dosis carboplatin serta memberikan terapi farmakologis tambahan maupun non-farmakologis untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien.

Cancer is a disease in which a body's cells undergo mutations so that cells experience abnormal growth. These mutations can be caused by genetic disorders, body physiology, immune conditions, and lifestyle influences. If the growth of cancer cells is not stopped, it can cause the spread of cancer cells to other parts of the body. One type of cancer with the greatest prevalence in the world is breast cancer. In treating breast cancer, the usual therapy is chemotherapy. This study aims to evaluate and provide recommendations for solving problems related to the treatment given and the side effects complained of by patients. The study was conducted on one of the outpatients in the chemotherapy room on the first floor of the Teratai Building in Fatmawati General Hospital using the observation method. The chemotherapy regiments given to the patient is in the form of carboplatin and docetaxel. Based on the study, a problem was found in the form of an inappropriate carboplatin dosage when compared to the literature. In addition, it was found that patients complained of side effects of chemotherapy in the form of headaches, fever, diarrhea, and nausea. These side effects appear a few days after administration of chemotherapy. These side effects are common side effects after administration of docetaxel and carboplatin. Thus, it is recommended to increase the dose of carboplatin and provide additional pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy to improve the patient's quality of life.
