Seturut dengan semakin maraknya pemberitaan isu global, perkembangan konsep sustainabilitas dalam rangka membantu menanggulangi kerusakan bumi masuk kedalam sektor finansial terwujud dalam bentuk indeks saham ESG. Milenial sebagai generasi yang sangat awam akan fenomena tersebut memikul beban tanggung jawab untuk turut memperbaiki dan mengikuti konsep sustainabilitas. Selain itu, milenial sebagai generasi terbesar yang juga mendominasi populasi investor di Indonesia memiliki pengaruh penting terhadap kemajuan sektor finansial. Keterkaitan keinginan generasi milenial berkontribusi dalam menjalankan sustainabilitas serta aktif dalam sektor finansial khususnya investasi menjadi benang merah bagi regulator investasi. Namun untuk lebih menarik minat investor milenial, regulator perlu mengetahui kriteria yang saat ini paling diminati oleh investor milenial di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tabulasi silang untuk mencari kriteria ESG yang paling diminati oleh generasi milenial kemudian diolah dengan regresi logistik multinomial untuk mencari variabel yang memiliki signifikansi pengaruh terbesar terhadap pemilihan kriteria ESG. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa saat ini investor milenial Indonesia sangat meminati kriteria tata kelola perusahaan serta pengaruh rekan memiliki peran besar terhadap peminatan para investor.

The development of the idea of sustainability to aid in reversing environmental harm has entered the financial industry as a result of the rising prevalence of global challenges in the form of the ESG stock index. The burden of obligation to advance and uphold the notion of sustainability falls on the millennial generation, which is quite unaccustomed to this problem. Additionally, millennials have a significant impact on the development of the financial industry being the largest generation and the majority of investors in Indonesia. For investment regulators, there is a connection between the millennial generation's willingness to participate in sustainability initiatives and their involvement in the financial industry, particularly in investing. Regulators must be aware of the requirements that millennial investors in Indonesia are now looking for, though, if they want to draw in more of them. Cross tabulation was used in this study to identify the ESG criteria that the millennial generation is most interested in, followed by multinomial logistic regression to identify the factors that significantly affect the choice of ESG criterion. The findings of this study also demonstrate that millennial investors in Indonesia are now extremely interested in corporate governance standards, and peer influence plays a significant role in investor interest.
