 Abstract

Organisasi MAARIF Institute dan Ahmad Syafii Maarif tak bisa dipisahkan. Satu-menyatu dan sokong menyokong dalam budaya organisasinya. Sosoknya sebagai figur sentral dalam organisasi memiliki pengaruh penting, di dalam maupun di luar organisasi. Gagasan dan pemikirannya tentang keislaman, keindonesiaan, dan kemanusiaan menjadi bumi gerakan visi dan misi lembaga ini. Penerusan nilai-nilai utama yang digagas oleh Ahmad Syafii Maarif menjadi fondasi dalam budaya gerakan MAARIF Institute. Dalam tesis ini, saya mengemukakan perjalanan organisasi MAARIF Institute sebagai upaya memberikan pemahaman tentang transformasi budaya organisasi yang berjalin berkelindan dengan figur penting dibalik organisasi ini, saat masih hidup dan setelah wafat. Sehingga penelitian ini memaparkan dinamika budaya organisasi yang ada dalam tutur pengalaman pribadi dan refleksi diri sesuai dengan kaidah-kaidah etnografi.

The MAARIF Institute and Ahmad Syafii Maarif could not be separated. They are bound together and support each other in their organizational culture. His figure as the key figure in the organisation had an essential presence, both inside and outside the organization. His ideas and thoughts on Islam, Indonesia, and humanity have fuelled the organization's vision and mission. The transmission of the core values initiated by Ahmad Syafii Maarif became the foundation of MAARIF Institute's movement culture. In this thesis, I present the organizational journey of MAARIF Institute in an effort to provide an understanding of the transformation of organizational culture intertwined with the key figure behind the organization, both during his lifetime and after his passing. Thus, this research explores the dynamics ofthe existing organizational culture in terms of personal experience and self-reflection in accordance with the rules of ethnography.
