Tesis ini membahas tentang representasi kekerasan seksual terhadap anak perempuan dalam film Korea Selatan berjudul Hope, dan berfokus pada dampak dari kekerasan seksual, proses pemulihan korban, dan proses pemidanaan pelaku kekerasan seksual. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis teks semiotika. Penelitian ini menjadi relevan dalam menggali apakah film ini benar-benar menciptakan naratif alternatif yang memperkuat pengalaman perempuan atau hanya mengikuti pola konvensional yang masih terikat oleh male gaze. Selain itu, melihat upaya sinema dalam mengatasi dan merombak norma-norma dominan, penelitian ini dapat memberikan pandangan baru terhadap peran film dalam mengubah perspektif dan memperjuangkan representasi yang lebih inklusif dan adil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa representasi dampak dari terjadinya kekerasan seksual dalam film Hope meliputi cedera fisik, trauma psikologis dan hilangnya rasa percaya diri. Representasidampak pada orang tua korban yaitu menyalahkan diri sendiri atas kejadian yang menimpa anak mereka, dan perasaan sedih yang mendalam. Pada proses pemulihan, representasi yang ditampilkan adalah korban mendapatkan bantuan dari seorang psikolog anak, dan penggunaan tokoh kartun favorit korban sebagai sumber kekuatan dan kenyamanan bagi korban. Representasi proses pemidanaan pelaku yang ditunjukkan meliputi proses identifikasi pelaku, persidangan, dan hasil putusan hukum.

This thesis discusses the representation of sexual violence against girls in a South Korean film titled Hope, and focuses on the impact of sexual violence, the victim's recovery process, and the criminalization process of sexual violence perpetrators. This research is a qualitative study with a semiotic text analysis method. This research becomes relevant in exploring whether this film really creates an alternative narrative that strengthens women's experiences or only follows conventional patterns that are still bound by the male gaze. In addition, seeing cinema's efforts to overcome and overhaul dominant norms, this research can provide new insights into the role of film in changing perspectives and fighting for more inclusive and just representations. The results show that the representation of the impact of sexual violence in Hope includes physical injury, psychological trauma and loss of self-confidence. The representation of the impact on the victim's parents is self-blame for what happened to their child, and feelings of deep sadness. In the recovery process, the representation shown is the victim getting help from a child psychologist, and the use of the victim's favorite cartoon character as a source of strength and comfort for the victim. The representation of the criminalization process of the perpetrator shown includes the process of identifying the perpetrator, the trial, and the results of the legal decision.
