Mahasiswa yang berada di tahap emerging adulthood kerap kali menghadapi tantangan-tantangan perkuliahan dan kehidupan yang dapat berdampak buruk terhadap Kesejahteraan Psikologis. Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur, ditemukan bahwa pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar psikologis (PKDP) dan penggunaan internet bermasalah (PIB) berperan dalam Kesejahteraan Psikologis pada mahasiswa. Belum terdapat penelitian yang meneliti dinamika hubungan PKDP, PIB, dan Kesejahteraan Psikologis pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran PKDP dan PIB dalam memprediksi Kesejahteraan Psikologis serta hubungan PKDP dan PIB pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini melibatkan 243 partisipan mahasiswa (Mage=21,2, Nperempuan=179) . Pengukuran variabel menggunakan alat ukur Ryff Psychological Well Being Scale (RPWBS), Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction Scale (BPNSS), dan Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS 2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PIB dapat memediasi hubungan antara PKDP dan Kesejahteraan Psikologis secara parsial (β = 9,1906, 95% CI [7,8382, 10,5430]). Temuan dari penelitian dapat digunakan untuk pertimbangan dalam menyusun intervensi meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Psikologis pada mahasiswa di tahap emerging adulthood =melalui PIB.
Students who are in the emerging adulthood stage often face challenges in college and life that could have a negative impact on psychological well-being (PWB). Based on a literature review, it was found that basic psychological need satisfaction (BPNS) and problematic internet use (PIU) played a role in PWB for university students. Previous research in Indonesia have not investigated the dynamic BPNS, PIU, and PWB in university students yet. This research aimed to look at the role of PIU in mediating the relationship between BPNS and PWB. This research involved 243 student participants (Mage=21,2, Nwoman=179)) and live in Indonesia. Variable measurements used the Ryff Psychological Well Being Scale (RPWBS), Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction Scale (BPNSS), and Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS 2). The research results show that PIU partially mediated the relationship between BPNS and PWB (β = 9,1906, 95% CI [7,8382, 10,5430]). The findings from the research can be used as a consideration when arranging intervention to increase university students PWB in the emerging adulthood stage through PIB.
