Gim video adalah permainan elektronik di mana pemain dapat mengontrol gambar di layar video. Gim video sendiri merupakan salah satu bentuk permainan elektronik yang paling digemari oleh berbagai kalangan masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Salah satu Video game yang cukup terkenal yaitu gim S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Seri gim ini dikembangkan oleh studio asal Ukraina GSC Game World. Gim video ini sendiri menggunakan Zona Eksklusi Chernobyl sebagai latarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis berbagai komponen yang terdapat dalam gim ini yang merepresentasikan bentuk kritik terhadap penanganan bencana Chernobyl oleh otoritas Soviet. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall dan metode analisis konten Klaus Kripendorff. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa komponen yang dapat diartikan sebagai kritikan terhadap Uni Soviet dalam konteks bencana Chernobyl.

A video game is an electronic game where the player can control images on a video screen. Video games are one of the most popular forms of electronic games for people all over the world. One of the most famous video games is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. This game series was developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The video game itself uses the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone as its setting. This research aims to analyze the various components in the game that represent a form of criticism of the Soviet authorities' handling of the Chernobyl disaster. This research uses Stuart Hall's representation theory and Klaus Kripendorff's content analysis method. The results show that there are several components that can be interpreted as criticism of the Soviet Union in the context of the Chernobyl disaster.
