Semakin tinggi jenjang pendidikan akan mengurangi partisipasi sekolah. Besarnya biaya pendidikan yang harus ditanggung menjadi salah satu faktor fenomena tersebut. Pemerintah melalui Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) meringankan biaya pendidikan yang harus ditanggung rumah tangga miskin. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan partisipasi sekolah anak. Dengan menggunakan data panel dengan periode waktu tahun 2018-2022 untuk memahami sejauh mana Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) dapat meningkatkan Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK) di jenjang Sekolah Menengah Atas/sederajat di Kabupaten/Kota Pulau Jawa. Data yang digunakan penelitian ini berasal dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) dan Kemendikbudristek. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan PIP tidak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan APK SMA/sederajat di Kabupaten/Kota Pulau Jawa dan ketersediaan fasilitas sekolah akan meningkatkan APK.

The higher the level of education, the lower school participation will be. The large educational costs that must be borne are one factor in this phenomenon. The government through the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) reduces the education costs that must be borne by poor households. This program is expected to increase children's school participation. Using panel data for the 2018-2022 time period to understand the extent to which the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) can increase the Gross Enrollment Rate (APK) at the high school/equivalent level in districts/cities on the island of Java. The data used in this research comes from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Education and Culture. The research results show that PIP has no effect on increasing the GER for SMA/equivalent in the Districts/Cities of Java Island and the availability of school facilities will increase the GER.
