Peran Harmonious Work Passion sebagai mediator pada hubungan antara Makna Kerja dan Kinerja Pegawai Negeri Sipil di Provinsi Banten = The Role of Harmonious Work Passion as a Mediator in the Relationship between Meaningful Work and Performance in Civil Servant in Banten Province

 Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran harmonious work passion sebagai mediator pada hubungan antara makna kerja dan kinerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan Self-determination Theory sebagai teori yang menjelaskan bagaimana karyawan yang merasa pekerjaannya bermakna karena pekerjaan tersebut memberikan dampak pada masyarakat akan memenuhi kebutuhan dasar psikologis berupa peningkatan kompetensi, keterhubungan dengan orang lain, dan otonomi, sehingga karyawan menampilkan kinerja yang baik. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 296 Pegawai Negeri Sipil di Kota Serang Provinsi Banten. Kinerja diukur dengan menggunakan skala “Individual Work Performance” yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Ramdani (2018), makna kerja diukur dengan alat ukur “Inventori Kebermaknaan Kerja” yang diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia dari alat ukur meaningful work Steger (2012), dan Harmonious Passion diukur menggunakan ”The Passion Scale” dari Vallerand, dkk (2003) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Diani (2018). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan harmonious work passion memediasi hubungan makna kerja dan kinerja. Artinya karyawan yang merasa pekerjaannya bermakna, akan lebih bersemangat dan passionate dalam pekerjaannya dan nantinya akan menampilkan kinerja yang baik.

This study aims to examine the role of harmonious work passion as a mediator in the relationship between the work meaningfulness and performance. This study uses Self-determination Theory as the framework theory that explains how employees who feel their work is meaningful for themselves and others will fulfill the basic psychological needs of competence, autonomy, and relatedness, and in turn will increase their work performance. The research participants in this study are 296 Civil Servants in Serang City, Banten Province. Performance is measured using the "Individual Work Performance" scale which has been adapted into Indonesian by Ramdani (2018), the meaningful work is measured by the "Work Meaningfulness Inventory" which has been adapted into Indonesian from the meaningful work measuring tool Steger (2012), and Harmonious Passion is measured using “The Passion Scale” from Vallerand, dkk (2003) which has been adapted into Indonesian by Diani (2018). The results of the study show that harmonious work passion mediates the relationship between meaningful work and performance. This means that employees who feel their work is meaningful, will be more enthusiastic and passionate in their work harmoniously and will later display good performance.
