 Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) often causes chronic complications, one of which is diabetic ulcers which often lead to amputation. This study aims to analyze nursing care for patients with type 2 DM who experience complications of post-amputation diabetic ulcers below knee dextra, and to evaluate the effectiveness of guided imagery interventions in pain management. The methods used include a holistic nursing care approach that includes post-amputation wound management, infection prevention, and psychological and emotional care for patients. Guided imagery interventions are applied to help reduce postoperative pain, as well as improve patient relaxation and well-being. The results of the analysis showed that guided imagery was effective in reducing acute pain levels and helping patients cope with psychological stress after amputation. In conclusion, this intervention can be an important part of comprehensive nursing care for post-amputation patients to improve their quality of life and recovery.
