Gambaran Motivasi Kerja Perawat dalam Perspektif Maslow dan Manajemen Nyeri Non-Farmakologi Perawat di Ruang Rawat Bedah = Description of Nurses' Work Motivation from Maslow's Perpective and Non-Pharmacological Pain Management in Surgical Care Unit

 Abstract

Pendahuluan. Nyeri merupakan tanda-tanda vital pasien, perawat melakukan manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi secara mandiri, namun belum banyak penelitian untuk mengukur motivasi kerja dan manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi perawat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran motivasi kerja perawat dalam perspektif Maslow dan manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi di ruang rawat bedah. Metode. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional melibatkan 64 perawat ruang rawat bedah satu Rumah Sakit Daerah di Jawa Timur yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling.Hasil. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan sebagian besar perawat (71,9%) memiliki motivasi kerja berbasis kebutuhan Maslownya rendah, namun hampir semua perawat (98,4%) motivasi manajemen nyeri non-farmakologinya baik. Motivasi kerja yang rendah karena hampir semua aspek kebutuhan menurut Maslow sebagian besar baru terpenuhi sebagian, terutama kebutuhan . Sedangkan, aspek dimensi control belief dan pengetahuan dalam motivasi manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi yang reratanya paling kecil. Kesimpulan. Belum terpenuhinya kebutuhan Maslow berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi kerja perawat. Akan tetapi motivasi perawat dalam melaksanakan manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi baik. Rekomendasi. Hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi dasar bagi rumah sakit untuk mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan motivasi kerja, memerhatikan kebutuhan sosial, rasa aman, meningkatkan dimensi control belief dan pengetahuan dalam manajemen nyeri non-farmakologi perawat agar pelayanan di rumah sakit tetap optimal.

Introduction. Pain is a vital sign of patients, and nurses independently perform nonpharmacological pain management; however, there has been little research to measure nurses' work motivation and non-pharmacological pain management. This study aims to determine the description of nurses' work motivation in Maslow's perspective and nonpharmacological pain management in surgical wards. Methods. A quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach involving 64 nurses in the surgical ward of a regional hospital in East Java, selected using cluster random sampling. Results. The study found that most nurses (71.9%) had low work motivation based on Maslow's needs, but nearly all nurses (98.4%) had good motivation for non-pharmacological pain management. The low work motivation is due to the fact that most aspects of Maslow's needs are only partially fulfilled, particularly the need for safety. Meanwhile, the aspects of control belief and knowledge in non-pharmacological pain management motivation have the lowest average scores. Conclusion. The unmet Maslow's needs impact the low work motivation of nurses. However, nurses' motivation in performing nonpharmacological pain management is good. Recommendations. The research results are expected to serve as a basis for hospitals to evaluate and improve work motivation, address social needs, enhance a sense of security, and increase the dimensions of control belief and knowledge in nurses' non-pharmacological pain management to ensure optimal hospital services.
