 Abstract

Green Open Space (GOS) plays a vital role in supporting human life and sustainable urban development, especially through economic, social, and environmental benefits. In Depok City, rapid urbanization has caused a decrease in the area of GOS, thus negatively impacting environmental quality. The University of Indonesia (UI) City Forest is one of the important areas that functions as an ecological buffer, with an area of 69,45 hectares and various ecological functions, such as improving air quality, regulating microclimate, and maintaining biodiversity. This study aims to examine vegetation diversity and conduct economic valuation in the UI City Forest using the Importance Value Index (IVI) approach and the Total Economic Value (TEV) method. The analysis was conducted to understand the distribution, dominance of species, and the economic benefits generated. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the formulation of urban forest management and conservation policies, as well as strengthen efforts to maintain ecosystem sustainability amidst the pressures of urbanization in Depok City.
