The Ciliwung River is a large river that is very synonymous with flooding problems in Jakarta. When the Ciliwung river flows through Jakarta, this river carries natural and anthropogenic sediment material into the urban area. This anthropogenic sediment is none other than rubbish from Jakarta and previous areas. This problem is further complemented by anthropogenic activities that occur in Jakarta, one of which is the activity of the Manggarai Sluice Gate which is a branch of the Ciliwung river in Jakarta. The disturbance of the fluvial regime in the Ciliwung River in the form of waste that overlaps with anthropogenic features is what will be the focus of this research. This research is aimed at studying the urban geomorphological features at the Manggarai Water Gate, the character of the Ciliwung River sediment at various points in the deposition area in the Manggarai Water Gate area, and the direct relationship between natural sediment and waste. Using the granulometric method, sediment samples combined with waste are identified for their lithological characteristics, and the waste is classified based on type and size. This research produces data in the form of urban geomorphological conditions in the Manggarai Water Gate Area as well as the relationship between certain waste properties and the sediment deposited with them."

The availability of land to support human needs continue to increase along with the population growth. Limited nature of land in urban areas make the distribution of buildings becomes irregular and uncontrollable. This triggers a change in land use in the surrounding area, especially in the river border area. This Study is conduted to determine the utilization patterns and slope of the Ci Liwung riparian zone in Depok City 2021. This study is a research with a descriptive design. Oberservational data are processed and analyzed with the Meander analysis unit for further interpretation into tables and maps. The result shows that the condition of the Ci Liwung riparian zone is dominated by land use inside the riparian zone. The Utilization pattern of Ci Liwung riparian zone has a similiar type of land use in each Meander. Types of the utilization of Ci Liwung riparian zone are dominated by irregular housing (43,3%), regular housing (26,74%), social facilities (26,63%), and industry & services (3,3%). Border slope of Ci Liwung riparian zone are dominated by a slightly slope (43,2%), then a steep slope (36,7%), and a bit steep slope (20,1%)."

"The topic this volume addresses is situated in the nexus of an IR- (International Relations) approach focussing on transboundary politics and its inclination to remain within the sphere of state sovereignty and national interest on the one hand, and Development studies, with its imperatives on participation, planning, and intervention, on the other. The dilemma, of better understanding transboundary water management lies in how to understand how these two rationalities can be simultaneously nurtured.

"Soil loss and its transport processes were coupled with an existing distributed hydrological model
to assess the effects of land use change on stream flow and suspended sediment load in the Chao
Phraya River basin, Thailand. The simulation period spanned from 2001 to 2010. The results
indicate that the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency of upper sub-basins fluctuated in the range 0.51- 0.72,
indicating the applicability of the model for longterm simulation at the monthly scale. Land use
change during 200l-2010 caused a 1.6% increase in suspended sediment load based on the present
trend. The changes were particularly pronounced in the Wang River basin, where the delivery ratio
was highest. Moreover, the urbanization and conversion of farm land from paddy fields exerted
negative effects on sediment runoff in Chao Phraya River basin. The proposed model has the
ability to quantitatively evaluate the heterogeneity of sediment runoff in the basin, demonstrating
the benefits and trade-offs of each land use change class. The results of this study can support basin
and local land development policy to control sediment losses during development.

"Heavy metals in suspended sediments (SS) were investigated in the lower Chao Phraya River,
Thailand, and Main particulate metals. The particulate fractions accounted mostly for 60-100% of total concentrations of Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb in both dry and rainy seasons. The comparison of metal contents of the sampled SS and upper continental crust (UCC) implied some anthropogenic inputs of Cr, Ni,Cu, and Zn as well as the dilution process for those metals in the rainy season in Chao Phraya River. Enrichment factor in both rivers also indicated anthropogenic effects on metal content in SS,
reflecting the distinctive seasonal process in Chao Phraya River and the spatial variation within
Maxil."

"International labour migration can be characterized in three ways — as human aspiration, tradition, and necessity. For some people, working overseas is a dream. For others, international labour mobility is a tradition. For a great number of people, however, international labour migration is an economic necessity. It is the only viable solution to realize their basic human right to a decent life."
