"Berawal dari kata yang terbentuk di situs internet, riajuu kini menjadi salah satu fenomena dalam masyarakat Jepang, terutama kalangan remaja Jepang. Riajuu secara harfiah berarti ldquo; orang-orang yang memiliki kehidupan di dunia nyata yang memuaskan. rdquo; Penelitian ini meneliti tentang sosok dan citra riajuu, serta penggunaan kata riajuu sebagai wakamono kotoba menurut mahasiswa Jepang untuk menjelaskan persepsi mereka terhadap riajuu. Metode pengumpulan data primer adalah metode survei dengan instrumen kuesioner. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa menurut mahasiswa Jepang yang menjadi responden penelitian ini, seorang riajuu identik dengan seseorang yang mempunyai kekasih. Namun, tidak hanya keberadaan kekasih, keberadaan dan kuantitas teman juga menentukan seorang riajuu. Penggunaan kata riajuu sebagai wakamono kotoba juga mendukung pandangan mahasiswa Jepang terhadap citra seorang riajuu yang positif. Persepsi mahasiswa Jepang terhadap riajuu berkaitan dengan bagaimana pandangan hidupnya dalam memenuhi kepuasan hidup. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan persepsi mahasiswa Jepang terhadap riajuu, penelitian ini juga menggambarkan pandangan mahasiswa Jepang terkait pandangan hidup mereka.

Started as a word which was formed on internet, riajuu is now becoming a phenomenon in Japanese society, especially among the Japanese young generation. Riajuu literally means ldquo someone who leads a fulfilling real life. rdquo This research will explain about Japanese university students rsquo perception of riajuu through their opinion about the figure and image of riajuu, and its use as wakamono kotoba. The method used to gather this research rsquo s primary data is survey method with questionnaire as the instrument. This research shows that for Japanese university students, not only lover, the existence and quantity of friends are also important to define riajuu. The use of riajuu as wakamono kotoba by Japanese university students also shows their perception of riajuu rsquo s positive image. Japanese university students rsquo perception about riajuu also related to their sense of value. Hence, based on their perception of riajuu, this research also reflects Japanese university students rsquo sense of value."

Tujuan penulisan ini adalah menganalisis ekspansi ke Selatan yang dilakukan oleh Jepang dengan permasalahan minyak bumi yang mereka hadapi. Setelah melakukan tahap penelitian sejarah, penelitian ini menghasilkan fakta bahwa minyak bumi adalah salah satu agenda penting yang dibawa oleh Jepang dalam rangkaian ekspansinya ke Selatan sebelum pecahnya perang Pasifik.

ABSTRACTSince Meiji Restoration, Japan’s need of raw resources, especially petroleum, has increased due to the rapid growth of industry and military. Japan is not blessed with abundant natural resources in the country so that the expansion is one of the ways that they have taken to fulfill the need. Southern Area is predicted to fulfill their needs of petroleum and can also replace the dominance of petroleum imports from United States. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relation between Japan expansion to the South policy and petroleum problems. After doing historical research, this study shows the fact that petroleum is one of the important agendas brought by Japan in their expansion to the South policy."
