The implementation of distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic requires students to learn more independently and not be too dependent on teachers. Learning motivation and good information literacy skills are needed by students so that they are not left behind in learning. Previous research looked at the relationship between information literacy and learning achievement. Even though behind the learning achievement there is learning motivation as a motivation for students to achieve achievement. Therefore this research is intended to see whether there is a relationship between information literacy and student learning motivation during a pandemic. Research respondents were students of the 2017 FIB UI library science study program who have taken / are taking information literacy courses. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach and correlation method using the Pearson correlation test. The results of this study indicate that the information literacy skills and learning motivation of library science students are fairly high. In addition, 4 significant and positive relationships were found, namely the relationship between the ability to find location and access information with the desire to succeed, the ability to find location and access information with independent learning, the ability to synthesize information with the tenacity of students, and the ability to evaluate with the desire to receive rewards or praise."

"Exploring education for digital librarians provides a refreshing perspective on the discipline and profession of library and information science (LIS), with a focus on preparing students for careers as librarians who can deal with present and future digital information environments. A re-examination of the knowledge base of the field, combined with a proposed theoretical structure for LIS, provide the basis for this work, which also examines competencies for practice as well as some of the international changes in the nature of higher education. The authors finally suggest a model that could be used internationally to educate librarians for their new roles and social responsibilities in a digitised, networked world.
The twelve chapters of this book cover key issues in education for digital librarians, including : the necessity of regenerating the profession, current contexts, previous research on education for digital librarians; understanding the dimensions of the discipline and profession of librarianship, and the distinctions between them, the social purpose of librarianship as a profession and the theoretical framework which supports the practice of the profession, a brief analysis of curriculum design, pedagogies and teaching methods, and a glimpse of the proactive and important future role of librarianship in society."
