"Participation in the public sector is an important element of disabled people’s political rights. This paper explores the composition and practices of governmental disability-related advisory committees in Taiwan’s central and local governments. We used documentary analysis, focus groups, and in-depth interviews in our research, finding that the percentage of disabled people in governmental disabilityrelated advisory committees is very low; usually there are only one or two disabled committee members, in most instances with physical disabilities. Furthermore, there are no transparent criteria for the selection of disabled committee members. Accessibility and support are also rarely taken into account in these committees. In Taipei’s new direct election system, the Taipei city government has increased the number of disabled committee members and broadened coverage of different types of disabilities. However, many disabled persons still question the practices of direct election. Finally, this paper suggests that to further promote the civic participation of disabled persons in public policy, the government should increase the number of disabled people in governmental disability-related advisory committees, ensure a democratic selection mechanism, empower disabled people’s organizations, and provide accessibility and support for the participation of disabled people in public policies. A democratic, diverse, and accessible governmental committee will further support and protect the rights of persons with disabilities."

"Skripsi ini melihat terjadinya eksklusi sosial terhadap mahasiswa disabled di Universitas Indonesia dalam aspek fisik (infrastruktur) dan sosial, serta melihat mengapa proses eksklusi sosial tersebut terjadi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dan wawancara mendalam, serta studi data sekunder. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa yang terjadi di Universitas Indonesia adalah gradasi eksklusifitas antara kondisi fisik infrastruktur yang belum aksesibel dengan kondisi lingkungan sosial penyandang disabilitas yang sudah inklusif. Gradasi ini jika dilihat terjadi dalam level yang berlapis yaitu,mikro,meso,exo, dan makro, dan lebih disebabkan karena kebijakan yang ada masih cenderung eksklusif.

This thesis finds out the process of social exclusion of the disabled students in University of Indonesia as a tertiary education institution, especially in the physical (infrastructure) and social aspects. Besides, it sees why the process of social exclusion occurs. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques are observation, in-depth interview, and study of secondary data.

This study argues that what happened in University of Indonesia is a gradation of exclusivity between the inacessible infrastructure condition for disabled people and the inclusive social environment. This gradation works in a multi-level environment, namely, micro, meso, exo, and macro, and is mainly due to existing policies that still tend to be exclusive for disabled."

"Penelitian ini mengkaji penyampaian informasi koleksi museum melalui tata pamer yang dapat diterapkan bagi pengunjung berkebutuhan khusus (disabled people). Ada berjuta cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk menginformasikan koleksi arkeologi di museum. Tanpa adanya informasi yang jelas, koleksi tidak akan diketahui maknanya. Pengunjung berkebutuhan khusus menjadi bagian dari penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan di Museum Nasional, Jakarta, agar museum ini dapat mengembangkan kembali peran serta di dalam masyarakat, membangun pendidikan nasional Indonesia, serta menyebarkan informasi tentang arkeologi serta kegunaan mempelajari ilmu ini.

This research investigated the conveying of information of the museum's collection through the art of display that is applicable to visitors with a special needs which in case are disabled people. There are millions of ways that can be done to communicate archaeology artifact's information, without clear information then there is no sense. Visitors with special needs becomes part of this research. Research is done on the Museum Nasional, Jakarta, so that museum can redevelop the participation of the people and to raise national education of Indonesia as well as distributing information about archaeology and the use of studying this subject."
