"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas tentang sense of virtual community dalam komunitas virtual dalam serial drama televisi Jepang yang berjudul Densha Otoko. Sense of virtual Community atau SOVC merupakan perkembangan dari teori SOC atau sense of community Mac Millan dan Chavis. Seiring dengan perkembangan internet sebagai salah satu CMC (Computer Mediated Communication), jumlah komunitas virtual pun semakin bertambah terutama dalam masyarakat Jepang. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis berdasarkan data kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan bagaimana komunitas virtual bisa menjadi komunitas yang dapat memberi pengaruh besar dalam kehidupan penggunanya.

ABSTRACTThis thesis is discussed about sense of virtual community in virtual community on Japanese TV drama series "Densha Otoko. Sense of Virtual Community or SOVC is developed from Mac Millan and Chavis' theory of Sense of Community. Along with internet as CMC or Computer Mediated Communication expansion, the number of virtual community has been increasing, especially in Japanese society. This research is qualitative with analysis descriptive method based on literature data. This research result is described how a virtual community can be a community that has big influenced to user's life."
