"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas mengenai proses pembentukan modal sosial di dalamlayanan Perpustakaan Universitas Paramadina. Penelitian ini merupakanpenelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi etnografi. Temuan yang diperoleh dalampenelitian ini menunjukan bahwa aktivitas yang terjadi antara pustakawan danpengguna pada layanan perpustakaan dapat membangun modal sosial diperpustakaan. Kedekatan yang terjalin, tingginya frekuensi kegiatan bersama sertaadanya norma untuk tidak saling mengganggu merupakan contoh aktivitas yangmenonjol dalam layanan perpustakaan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalahproses pembentukan modal sosial dalam layanan di Perpustakaan UniversitasParamadina dibangun berdasarkan rasa saling percaya, saling menghargai sertaadanya jaringan sosial yang terjalin antara pustakawan dan pengguna.

ABSTRACTThis study discusses about process of social capital formation in library service atLibrary of Paramadina University. This study is a qualitative research withethnographic method. The findings obtained in this study indicate that the activitythat occurs between librarians and users in library services could build socialcapital in the library. The closeness between librarians and users, the highfrequency of joint activities as well as the norm to not interfere with each other areexample of a prominent activity in the library service. The conclusion of thisstudy is that the process of social capital formation in library service at Library ofUniversity Paramadina built based on mutual trust, mutual respect and theexistence of social networks that exist between librarians and users."
