"Rasio kompresi tinggi dengan kualitas rekonstruksi video yang baik dibutuhkan pada aplikasi kompresi video medis untuk penyimpanan maupun pentransmisian agar tidak terjadi kesalahan diagnosis pada pasien. Wang et. al. membuktikan 3D DT-DWT memiliki kualitas hasil kompresi video yang lebih baik daripada 3D DWT, sementara itu Zhu menguji pengaruh indeks SSIM untuk kompresi citra dengan 2D DT-DWT. Tesis ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh indeks SSIM pada kompresi video dengan 3D DT-DWT serta menganalisis hasil pengujian dengan parameter pengukuran PSNR dan SSIM untuk melihat pengaruhnya secara perseptual. Pengujian dilakukan dengan parameter level dekomposisi dan teknik thresholding yang sama untuk kompresi 3D DT-DWT klasik dan 3D DT-DWT yang dipengaruhi indeks SSIM. Hasil pengujian memperlihatkan adanya gain PSNR sebesar 1,5 dB serta peningkatan indeks SSIM pada kompresi video dengan 3D DT-DWT yang dipengaruhi indeks SSIM.

A high compression ratio and a good reconstruction quality of the video need to be applied in a stored or transmitted medical video to get an accurate diagnose for the patient. Wang et. al. proved that 3D DT-DWT has a better compression ratio than 3D DWT for the same reconstruction quality, meanwhile Zhu proved that SSIM index give a better reconstruction quality in image compression using 2D DT-DWT. This thesis aims to simulate the proposed perceptual medical video compression using 3D DT-DWT based on SSIM index and analyze the simulation result with PSNR and SSIM as the video quality measurement. We use the same parameters, such as decomposition level and thresholding method, in the simulations, both for the classic and perceptual video compression using 3D DT-DWT. Simulation result shows a PSNR gain 1,5dB and higher SSIM index for perceptual video compression using 3D DT-DWT based on SSIM index."
