At this moment, it has been developed World wide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WIMAX) technology which is Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) technology for broadband communication having high access speed and wide scopes. WIMAX is an international standard of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) having a reference IEEE 802.16 standard. At this moment, Plan of Ministerial Regulation of Communication and Information about Codes of radio frequency bands for Broadband Wireless Access services is formulating and completing. The research done to Plan of Ministerial Regulation covers 2.3 GHZ, 2.5 GHz, 3.3 GHz and 5.8 GHz radio frequency band.
Methodology of research used is through surveys to BWA operators, interviews with parties related to BWA, bibliography and internet browsing. The result of this research is expected to give a developed and useful proposal in the framework of completing for Plan of Ministerial Regulation of Communication and Information about Codes of radio frequency bands for Broadband Wireless Access services."

"WLAN and WiMAX frame structures are preceded by preamble signals. They have some similarities such as consisting of two adjacent signals with repetition patterns. Therefore, this paper introduces a joint detection of WLAN and WiMAX preambles using a common circuit. Time domain detection is proposed in order to avoid FFT involvement that can increase the system complexity and latency. The proposed system is constructed from repetition based auto-correlation and cross-correlation with resources sharing that has lower complexity than the conventional one. Moreover, the fixed point simulation shows that the proposed circuit has satisfied the receiver minimum sensitivity requirements for both WLAN and WiMAX standards."

Antenna became one of the important components in supporting the application of BWA technology. Microstrip antenna that have small and light weight features, easy to manufacture and conformal, became the choice that supports the BWA application in that it could operate in the determined frequency allocation. One of the allocation of the frequency that works for the BWA is at 2.3 GHz.
This thesis discuss of design a 4 element linear array antenna that operates at 2,3 GHz BWA frequency allocation. It has 2 layers of four-sided (quad) shape, known as biquad. This antenna is designed with aperture-coupled feed to give wideband frequency. The measurement result shows that this antenna operates at BWA frequency allocation of 2,3 GHz. The VSWR < 1,9 was obtained at 2245 ? 2395 MHz (150 MHz). Gain is around 13,683 dBi at 2,33 GHz and half power beamwidth is 50° (from 330° - 20°).

"Teknologi worldwide interoperability for mobile access (WiMAX) mampu mentransfer data dengan kecepatan tinggi

Weerawardane, Thushara
"Thushara Weerawardane introduces new transport technologies and features for High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks. Using advanced scientific methods, he proposes new adaptive flow control and enhanced congestion control algorithms, then defends them with highly-developed analytical models derived from Markov chains. For faster analysis, compared to long-lasting detailed simulations, these models provide optimum network performance and ensure reliable quality standards for end users during transport network congestion. Further, the author investigates and analyzes LTE transport network performance by introducing novel traffic differentiation models and buffer management techniques during intra-LTE handovers.
