This research is motivated by the increasing number of women's wing in Indonesia political parties. Women's wing in Indonesia grown along with increased awareness of women's representation in politics. Therefore, this study conducted to seek answers about the role of women's wings of political parties in the recruitment of elite and legislative member candidate by taking a case study Kesatuan Perempuan Partai Golkar (KPPG). This research limited on the role of leadership in the two eras, Golkar chairman Jusuf Kalla (2004-2009) and Aburizal Bakrie (2009-2014).
As a theoretical foundation, this study uses the theory of polititical party from Alan Ware, Gender and Political Party from Joni Lovenduski and the recruitment process in political parties from Pippa Norris. This study used qualitative methods, while data analysis techniques using explanatory methods. Technique data collecting collect the data and documents related to the research, also through in-depth interview with nine speakers which is seven women and two men from DPP Golkar elites in the two eras.
Evidence shows though political parties respond to the issue of women in politics by establishing women's wing, but the opportunity presented by political parties for elites and legislative member candidate recruitment at the national level is still very rare. The factors that affect the role of the women candidates and officials divided into external and internal factors include affirmation policy, tipe of political organization, male dominated elites, and much more. Theoritical implication indicate that the recruitment process is highly influential in gaining a strategic position in a political parties. But a strategic position in a political party or sequence number in legislative election tend to be difficult to achieve for women cadres."

""The 1990s witnessed a surge of feminist human rights scholarship and activism in international law has shaped jurisprudential and institutional developments, yet gender issues and human rights still remain a challenging and evolving field of study. In this collection, Professor Otto brings together seminal works which are united in their aim of questioning the existing gendered hierarchies of power and inequality and the purportedly natural foundations that have justified oppressive gender stereotypes. Included works cover, among others, the history and early developments of women's rights, structural critiques of international human rights law, recognizing new human rights, linking women's economic inequality and human rights and thinking beyond the duality of gender." -- publisher website."

"What role do transitional justice processes play in determining the gender outcomes of transitions from conflict and authoritarianism? What is the impact of transitional justice processes on the human rights of women in states emerging from political violence? Gender Politics in Transitional Justice argues that human rights outcomes for women are determined in the space between international law and local gender politics. The book draws on feminist political science to reveal the key gender dynamics that shape the strategies of local women's movements in their engagement with transitional justice, and the ultimate success of those strategies, termed 'the local fit'. Also drawing on feminist doctrinal scholarship in international law, 'the international frame' examines the role of international law in defining harms against women in transitional justice and in determining the 'from' and 'to' of transitions from conflict and authoritarianism. This book locates evolving state practice in gender and transitional justice over the past two decades within the context of the enhanced protection of women's human rights under international law."
