"This book highlights recent advances in thin-film photonics, particularly as building blocks of metamaterials and metasurfaces. Recent advances in nanophotonics has demonstrated remarkable control over the electromagnetic field by tailoring the optical properties of materials at the subwavelength scale which results in the emergence of metamaterials and metasurfaces. However, most of the proposed platforms require intense lithography which makes them of minor practical relevance. Stacked ultrathin-films of dielectrics, semi-conductors, and metals are introduced as an alternative platform that perform unique or similar functionalities. This book discusses the new era of thin film photonics and its potential applications in perfect and selective light absorption, structural coloring, biosensing, enhanced spontaneous emission, reconfigurable photonic devices and super lensing.​"

"Nanophotonics, a novel optical technology, utilizes the local interaction between nanometric particles via optical near fields. The optical near fields are the elementary surface excitations on nanometric particles, i.e. dressed photons that carry material energy. Of the variety of qualitative innovations in optical technology realized by nanophotonics, this books focuses on fabrication. To fabricate nano-scale photonic devices with nanometer-scale controllability in size and position, we developed a self-assembly method for size- and position-controlled ultra-long nanodot chains using a novel effect of near-field optical desorption. A novel deposition and etching scheme under nonresonant conditions is also demonstrated and its origin is reviewed."

"Tokyo Sonata merupakan film karya Kiyoshi Kurosawa yang menceritakan tentang keruntuhan keluarga pekerja di Jepang pasca pecahnya gelembung ekonomi. Depresi ekonomi yang terjadi pada saat itu membuat pergeseran peran oleh laki-laki di Jepang untuk membangun identitas maskulin yang dahulunya sebagai militer, berubah menjadi seorang pencari nafkah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan maskulinitas hegemonik direpresentasikan dalam film Tokyo Sonata karya Kiyoshi Kurosawa serta pesan yang disampaikan mengenai maskulinitas hegemonik dalam film Tokyo Sonata. Data primer diperoleh dari film Tokyo Sonata dengan mengamati dan menghasilkan kesimpulan yang didasari oleh penemuan dari adegan yang dianggap mengandung representasi maskulinitas. Sumber data sekunder diperoleh melalui metode studi pustaka menggunakan artikel jurnal, buku, dan karya ilmiah lainnya. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori semiotika Barthes. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pada film Tokyo Sonata, maskulinitas hegemonik direpresentasikan dengan tepat oleh Ryuhei sebagai tokoh utama dan para tokoh sampingan lainnya seperti Megumi dan Takashi. Hal ini terlihat dari penampilan dan perilaku para tokoh yang sesuai dengan konsep maskulinitas hegemonik. Maskulinitas hegemonik tersebut dijabarkan lebih lanjut dengan menampilkan konsep maskulinitas subordinat yang ditampilkan oleh Ryuhei ketika ia kehilangan pekerjaannya.

Tokyo Sonata is a film by Kiyoshi Kurosawa that follows the collapse of working families in post-Bubble Economy of Japan. The economic depression that occurred at that time made a role shift by men in Japan to build a masculine identity that used to be military, turning into a breadwinner. Based on this, this research aims to explain the hegemonic masculinity represented in Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Tokyo Sonata and the message conveyed about hegemonic masculinity in Tokyo Sonata. Primary data was obtained from the movie Tokyo Sonata by observing and producing conclusions based on the findings of the scenes considered to contain representations of masculinity. Secondary data sources were obtained through the literature study method using journal articles, books, and other scientific works. The data collected was then analyzed using Barthes' semiotic theory. This study found that in the movie Tokyo Sonata, hegemonic masculinity is appropriately represented by Ryuhei as the main character and other side characters such as Megumi and Takashi. This can be seen from the appearance and behavior of the characters that are in accordance with the concept of hegemonic masculinity. The hegemonic masculinity is further elaborated by displaying the concept of subordinate masculinity displayed by Ryuhei when he loses his job."
