"The endophytic fungi Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated from the tissues of the fruits of Garcinia griffithii. The fungal strain was identified from the colony, and it was characteristic of cell morphol ogy. The ethyl acetate extracts derived from fungus cultures showed major spots on TLC under UV light, which was continued to the isolation of the secondary metabolites. The structure of the isolated compound was elucidated on the basis of NMR analyses (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HMQC, HMBC and H-H COSY). The compounds were identified as: 4,6-dihydroxy, 3,8a-dimethyl-1-oxo-5-(3?-oxobutan-2?-yl)-1,4,4a,5,6,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-2-yl-1?,2?-dimethyl-5?-(2??-methylprop-1??-enyl)cyclopentane-carboxylate."

"Soil fungi occurred in the rhizosphere in many cultivated crops and wild grasses in the sandy soil were effective in enhancing the growth promoting of plant. A field experiment to study the effect of soil fungi from sandy soil as plant growth promoting fungi (PGPF). The experiment was conducted in Clinical Laboratory of Plant Pathology and glass house Faculty of Agriculture Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. The sandy soil was located in Samas and Bugel Yogyakarta. The treatment was conducted in Complete Randomize Design (CRD) with 5 replications. Among 33 rhizosphere fungi tested, 26 fungal isolates were hypovirulent isolate and showed the ability as PGPF i.e. Trichoderma spp. (SB32 , CB32, SB33, CB33 and CB21). They enchanced significantly the height and dry biomass of plants compare with control."

"Coastal plant locally known as terong pungo (Solanum sp.) was used by Aceh community as traditional medicine for toothache. The objectives of this study were to isolate endophytic fungi from the leaves of terong pungo and determine the antibacterial activity of the fungi against bacteria causing dental caries and infection. Eight endophytic fungi were isolated. Antagonism test among the isolates was performed to select the most dominant fungus. TP6 was the selected fungus based on the antagonism assay. Crude extracts of the fungus were macerated from the culture broth using ethyl acetate. The strongest antibacterial activity of the extracts was obtained when the fungus was at 12 days of cultivation. The fungal crude extract was strongly active against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa with inhibition zone diameter of 20, 21 and 23 mm, respectively."
